WonderCon 2014: Kotobukiya

Kotobukiya didn't bring much (if anything) new to WonderCon, which is understandable as it's not a tentpole convention in the US. However our determined editor Natalie covered their booth all the same despite being sick as a ...

Kotobukiya previews Dead Space 3's Isaac

Kotobukiya revealed via Facebook some nice shots of their upcoming 1/6-scale Isaac Clarke figure, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Although having a masked hero in a sci-fi shooter is pretty cliche nowadays, I still li...

SDCC 2012: Square Enix Play Arts Kai (Part 2) photo
SDCC 2012: Square Enix Play Arts Kai (Part 2)
by Brian Szabelski

Continuing our Play Arts Kai coverage from Square Enix's booth, we head on out to space! In particular, that's because this batch features Mass Effect 3's Commander Shepard, Garrus and Ashley Williams. We saw them at Toy Fair in unpainted form, but this is the first time we've gotten to see them up close in color. Garrus looks to be the best of the three as far as detailing goes, though they all look good at the very least.

New to the Play Arts Kai family, though are two new Mass Effect 3 figures: Female Shepard and Tali vas Normandy. And Pedro, you can go ahead and get excited now. The two are welcome additions form this Mass Effect fan, especially Tali. And in case you are wondering: no, it does not appear you will be able to see under Tali's face, nor will her face even be visible under her visor. Sorry. Hope the weapons they both come with will be a good enough trade-off, though.

Also in the booth as an unpainted prototype was Dead Space 3's Isaac Clarke. The only accessories at the booth were Isaac's alternate hands, but I'm not sure if that's all he's coming with.

Stay tuned, because we've got even more Play Arts Kai releases and prototypes to show off!
