Pre-order best Heavy Cruiser Takao today

One of the better, but underlooked, series of recent seasons, Ars Nova was a pretty fantastic take on the whole Japanese anthropomorphizing of vehicles, weapons--and in this case, both. It hit quite a few high notes during it...

Wave has posted a blog featuring their upcoming Beach Queens Ryuko Matoi of Kill la Kill fame. This will be the first Beach Queens figures I'll be buying, and I'm so excited! I can't wait to own a figure version of one of my favorite Kill la Kill posters.

Now that the prototype is complete, I imagine it won't be long before we start seeing pre-orders start. Will Ryuko be one of the Beach Queens ladies you'll be adding to your collection? Are you like me and haven't picked up a single Beach Queens figure until this one? I'd love to know!

Tomopop LinkUP: Gold Medal Panic photo
Tomopop LinkUP: Gold Medal Panic
by Jeremy Emerje Crocker

Hello and welcome back to Tomopop LinkUP! It's been a pretty busy week in all sorts of ways. We're still plowing our way through Wonder Festival coverage with the shadow of Toy Fair looming over us. But outside of that the Olympics are in full swing once again and Valentine's Day is tomorrow, probably the two best events for precious metals. Man, why is the shortest month of the year also the busiest?

This week we've got more galleries, customs, LEGO pieces, and plushies. Follow me after the jump to see it all! Incidentally, I've tried to watch Full Metal Panic twice and still haven't finished the first season...

Tomopop LinkUP: Walking in a winter Wonder Festival
by Jeremy Emerje Crocker

Hello and welcome back to an action packed Tomopop LinkUP. Packed is definitely the right word for this edition as we're looking at probably our biggest LinkUP yet! And no wonder, it's the winter convention season! UK Toy Fair was last week though it was kind of a meh event. In just over a week we've got the first Wonder Festival of the year on February 9 followed by New York Toy Fair launching the following weekend on Feb 16 to 19. I'm sure there's like a dozen more before spring.

And thanks to all of these big toy shows there has been an email tidal wave in our inbox, far more than we've been able to post and there's still more coming in every day. And this is just the stuff leftover from last week! Crazy stuff and there's still tons more coming in every day. It isn't all stuff being prepared for the big events; we've also got some great custom and designer stuff that I'm actually a little sad we haven't had time to post because it's so good! See it all after the jump!

Hello and welcome to the latest installment of Tomopop LinkUP! I hope people enjoyed the special Transformers edition of LinkUP I did last week, but now we're back to our regular routine. There's been a lot of stuff happening as of late with the more creative among us. I like to think I'm creative, but I'm more of an idea person. When it comes to putting paint to plastic or clay to wheel it never looks as good as it does in my head. Some of us have it and some of us just write about the people who have it I guess.

This week we've got not one, but two artist interviews to pass along, as well as some designer stuff and a bunch of photo galleries. Let's get to it after the jump, shall we?

Tomopop LinkUP: The rated A-plush edition photo
Tomopop LinkUP: The rated A-plush edition
by Jeremy Emerje Crocker

Hello and Welcome to this week's Tomopop LinkUP! It's been a crazy, exhausting week for me. Between a three-day ice storm, a 17 hour power outage, and rushing through Christmas, it has all left me a little drained. But the news doesn't stop for anyone and there's no way I would miss the last LinkUP of 2013! The news doesn't stop for the holidays either; there's been a ton of great stuff shown in the past week.

This week we're looking at a number of different plushies, some new release galleries, great geek toys, a massive LEGO custom, and much more!

Three new Beach Queens hit stores for pre-order

If there's one thing you can say about Wave, it's that they certainly know how to keep that train of bikini clad girls a-rollin'. Today we've got three very different ladies from three very different shows appearing on virtua...

Five times the magic with Madoka Beach Queens round 2 photo
Five times the magic with Madoka Beach Queens round 2
by Martin Siggers

Never ones to believe you can have too much of a good thing, Wave has unveiled an entire new range of Madoka Magica Beach Queens. That's right, every one of the five main girls gets a brand new look to go to the beach in. I have to say for the most part I prefer these to the original - the sculpts are better and it's cool to see the girls dressed up in something other than the colours they're always associated with. If I had to pick one out it'd be Kyouko - I'm liking the blue look on her, and the ice lolly is a nice touch.

All of these lovely ladies are up for order from today, so hit the links below if you like the look of one (or all!) of them. Disappointingly, they're a little more expensive than the standard BQ price, with most of them at ¥4200 and Homura at a hefty ¥4800 (allegedly due to extra parts). All of them will be due out in April, and if anybody does collect the set, we'd love to see!
