50th Shizuoka Hobby Show: Aoshima's 1/2000-scale Enterprise-D photo

I'm not really much of a big Star Trek fan at all, save for one thing in particular: Star Trek: The Next Generation. Perhaps it was my dad's doing (he used to watch the series from time to time when I was younger), but Picard's my homeboy. And at the 50th Shizuoka Hobby Show, there was one thing that caught my eye right off the bat: Aoshima's 1/2000-scale Enterprise-D.

Not only is it a faithful replica of the starship from the show on a much smaller scale, but the kit comes with a to-scale shuttle, lights up via LEDs and can have the saucer part separated like the real Enterprise-D. It's coming out in July at a price of about US$170, which right now is bad timing for me. But if I have a rich benefactor willing to pay for this ... well, make it so.

MOAR Star Trek:

Legacy Comments

SO hot for this... the Star Trek franchise has some of my favorite sci-fi ship designs. The Galaxy class is utterly beautiful.
Noooooooooooooooo it's a model! I've met Patrick Stewart, he's a very nice guy.
