Where have I seen this before?

[update: Princess of the Crystal is now up for pre-order! Retail: ¥11,800]

Though we absolutely cannot compare their quality standards, I can't help but look at Alter's version of Mawaru Penguindrum's Princess of the Crystal and think of the SEGA Prize version I reviewed and gave away a couple months ago. It isn't exactly the same pose, but boy are they similar. Does this character tend to just stand around with one arm stretched in front of her?

Needless to say, this version of the figure is absolutely beautiful, and I think the addition of penguins to hold her skirt up in the back is brilliant and fun. You can check out the preview in the gallery to see the entire ensemble. The penguins even come with a little apple so you can pose them alone, which is adorable.

Princess is slated to go up for pre-order on Dec. 5th Japan time, so probably tonight for the rest of us. She should be released next year in May.
